You think the car looks bad........ you should see the deer.
Last night I came upon a crack suicide deer, who (with no regards to traffic laws) leaped out of the woods into my path. I hit an adult doe at about 55 mph.
Later that day I heard that rutting season had just started. For those of you who are not aware of what rutting season is, here are the cliff notes on rut.
"During their so-called "rut," which generally lasts from October to
December, males go crazy. Their libido rises and they lose all caution,
searching for females in a frantic effort to breed. This sends females on the
run.
Naturally this results in moose and deer, chasing and being chased,
cross roads. And when that happens, collisions with cars are inevitable. "
I have only one thing to say to all the suicidal, accident causing, horny deer out there......Venison will be my revenge.
That must of scared you almost to death! When I lived in Flagstaff, that was my single biggest fear...hitting one and having their legs come through the windshield and kick me to death. I am so glad you are okay. Was Dean in the car with you? We are getting excited to see you next month! Have a great Thanksgiving!!! Love ya, Kendi
ReplyDeleteHey, yes Dean was with me, we where singing song in the car. I think I actually broke the legs off the deer so I didnt have to worry about it kicking me to death.
ReplyDeleteI am very thankful we are ok and specially that Dean was ok.
