Its here....its finally here
Spring is finally here, the excitement is everywhere. Today the whole town was outside taking walks, riding bikes, playing in parks. Its so exciting to experience the change of seasons. Dean and I were up and about early this morning. We went to the park all morning and then hung out by the pound the rest of the day. He loves being outside, here are a few random picts I took today.

My mommy makes the BEST albondiga soup EVER!!!
So the other day I made albondiga (meatball) soup, not sure what Dean's reaction would be to eating such a strange meal, I scooped out some meatballs and placed them on a plate for him. Then I went and served myself a big bowl of soup.
Dean was not happy, he kept on pointing to my bowl and saying "um um" (yum yum). So I pushed his plate to the side and handed him my bowl of soup. I have never seen this kid eat the way he did that evening. He grabbed the spoon and was unstoppable. After he finished all the meatballs and the vegetables he picked up the bowl and gulped down all the broth. It was hilarious.
I love knowing that even though he loves his hot dogs and his mac and cheese, he is still 50% costarrican and will gladly chow down a warm bowl of albondiga soup.

10 things that make up my perfect day (included but not limited to):
1. Waking up late
2. Not having to be anywhere at any specific time
3. Taking my time to get ready
4. Having a picnic and spending time outdoors
5. Spending time with Tim and Dean
6. No cooking involved
7. No work
8. Just hanging out, no plans to follow
9. FUN FUN and more FUN
10. A long shower
Yesterday was the perfect day. We woke up and realized we had nothing we had to do, which in our case is very rare. Lately our saturdays have been filled with either drywalling, working, running errands or any other insignificant thing we did not have time to take care of during the week. It was a real shock when we realized we had nothing we had to get done, it was also a shock to see that the weather was gorgeous and the sun was shinning. As if God created the perfect day just for us. Immediately we headed outdoors.

Dean enjoyed some time running around, Tim started a little fire, we invited some friends over for lunch. We roasted hot dogs over the fire, and we did absolutely nothing. It was wonderful.
It made me realize how much time is often spent in the insignificant details of life and how much of life we actually miss out on.
That night was also BUNCO night. The theme was the 80's...oh my. Did people actually wear this much hairspray?
First Haircut
A few days ago Dean had a runny nose, his hair was so long that I would spend my morning pulling his bangs out of his nose. True story. This is when I realized it was time for his first haircut.
Expecting the worse we were prepared with suckers and games, but he did great. He loved looking at himself in the mirror. The only thing that bothered him was the spray bottle.

Before: The bangs are brushed back so you cant see how long they are.
After: Ok, so we freaked out and asked her to cut it just a bit. At least his bangs wont be stuck to his nose in the morning.
